Pisang Relay 2015 came about when we wanted to try ran with bananas baton relay among ourself. Three person in one group, each will run the first 4km with 1 banana & then another 4km with 2 bananas. So a total of 8km each & 2 bananas passing around. Fazlee registered this event for us while me & Tat paid for the hotel accommodations. All 3 of us are college buddies and it took us 5 hour roadtrip from KL to Penang Island. We were like tourist on own own hometown.
After check in at Heritage hotel, I can't resist the first thing that comes in mind about Penang is nasi kandar! So, i took them to one of the best spot for nasi kandar is Deen Nasi Kandar, Jelutong. It was awesome! Then in the evening, after the rain stops we went out for an easy run along Gurney Drive. The next morning was the event day, got our briefing then Fazlee(red) is the first runner to start, while myseft is blue; the second and Tat(green) will be last to run. When Tat finish his final run, all three of us ran together to the finish line. It was a pleasant yet fun event because you can see friends gathered and cheer for each other. Mostly amateur runner and dedicated runner for podium, for us...its the fun of it and the experience. Before we went back to KL, stop by at mee sotong near padang kota lama. Summarize, Penang Pisang Relay really live of to its name and wish the route could be more challenging but still I think they have one of the best and cute medal for now. We might be back next year ! ~
